SMYC SMALL BOAT RACE 6 of 8, 21 July 2018

The Dog Days of summer are upon us and the inland valleys of Southern California are getting hot. The Pacific Ocean waters are at 74 degrees along our coastline so summer is definitely in full swing. On the water this Saturday the sail boat racing also got hot.

A sunny breezy day produces excellent conditions for some very bold and exciting races. Skippers and crews were pressed to be skillful and sharp to respond to gusts that might cause the boats to be overpowered. Those of us who were either race committee or racing received a very exciting event.

There are still 2 more race dates in this series and we are looking forward to enjoying more exciting events as we finish the 2018 race season. The results from our sixth race date are as follows.

1. Sue & Hugh     5 points
2. Tom & Glenda     10 points
3. Gary & Linda     15 points

On behalf of the racing gang that wraps up the fun in the sun from the little club on the big military base on the Pacific Ocean.

Sincerely, J.P.
